Effect of a Morality Enhancement Program based on Situation Learning for Nursing Students

Abstract
Purpose: This study investigated the effects of the morality enhancement program based on situation learning for nursing students.

Method: This is an experimental design study before and after the non-equivalent control group. The participants were nursing students assigned either to an experimental or a control group. The experimental group participated in the morality enhancement program based on situational learning, which was conducted in two weekly sessions for 120 minutes for eight sessions. The data was collected from March to April 2019. The data were analyzed using the ¥ö2 test, an independent t-test with the IBM SPSS for Windows (version 25.0) statistics program.

Result: We found that moral sensitivity (exp 162.50¡¾13.88, con 144.50¡¾24.30; t=3.52, p=.001), moral motivation (exp 176.17¡¾23.43, con 159.27¡¾28.15; t=2.50, p=.015), moral character (exp 187.21¡¾16.79, con 164.97¡¾28.81; t=2.87, p=.006), moral judgment was P(%) score (exp 37.79¡¾5.51, con 38.25¡¾3.58; t=-.38, p=.702) and N2 score (exp 56.14¡¾6.75, con 52.01¡¾7.63; t=2.22, p=.030) after program.

Conclusion: It was found that the morality enhancement program based on situation learning in this study was effective in improving the moral sensitivity, moral motivation, and moral character of nursing student first graders.
